Chalobah Poised to Replace Guehi in Three Lions Selection

Chelsea defender in action

Trevoh Chalobah followed his sibling Nathaniel in representing England, becoming the 21st pair of siblings to play for the national team.

The Chelsea defender is expected to link up with the England squad to fill in for injured Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi.

The 26-year-old is due to meet up with the national side for England's final World Cup qualifiers against Albania and Serbia, but it has still not been made public.

The Three Lions have already booked their place for the upcoming World Cup.

Chalobah earned his first invitation under England head coach Thomas Tuchel in May and then earned his first cap against Senegal.

In September, Tuchel remarked Chalobah was unlucky to be left out from the team for qualifying games against Serbia and Andorra, and also did not select him for the next October matches.

Tuchel has been an significant presence in Chalobah's career, having awarded him his Chelsea first-team bow in the year 2021.

Chalobah has featured in almost every games for Chelsea this season, with the side occupying third spot in the English top flight, in the Carabao Cup quarter-finals and in the league phase of the Champions League.

Guehi picked up a injury to his foot in Crystal Palace's Conference League victory over the Dutch side last week.

There are set to be additional additions to the team. Newcastle manager Eddie Howe has said that both attacker Anthony Gordon (hip injury) and goalkeeper Nick Pope (concussion symptoms) will withdraw from the England setup.
